The Progressive Wrestling Alliance is a weekly, episodic scripted web series that is presented in written form, and is comprised of a cast of fictional wrestling characters created by its audience.

Many kids who grow up wrestling fans do so with an idea in mind of what their character would be if they were a wrestler. What PWA does is give those people a vehicle to bring those characters to life.

In a nutshell, people submit a character to the PWA team via an application on this site, and each time new characters are sought out, the applications will be reviewed and certain ones will be added to the roster. Then, an entire weekly wrestling series is scripted around these characters. For the upcoming third season, each episode will be a blend of written vignettes and videos of matches, filmed using WWE '12 and posted on YouTube. Two "pay-per-view" events will also be produced using WWE '12 throughout the third season and posted in full on YouTube.

Don't think PWA is limited to just wrestling fans, however. Since PWA opened its doors in 2002, plenty of people with no interest in wrestling whatsoever have been sucked in by the storylines and become regular readers - even those whose characters didn't make the cut, or didn't even submit one at all.

Most of the information that appears on this website is written in character, in storyline mode. This section, however, has a good deal of out-of-character information. Below are links to three articles detailing different phases of the development of the PWA, both in storyline, and in reality. Additionally, there is a link to our newswire, which will be written primarily in keeping with storylines (with occasional out-of-character announcements).

New episodes commence April 24, 2012 and run through June 19, 2012 weekly before a hiatus that will be followed by weekly episodes from August 14, 2012 through October 9, 2012. There will also be two "pay-per-view" specials: Symphony of Destruction on June 30 and Everlasting Epic VIII on October 20.
